The annual Law & Rurality Workshop, facilitated in partnership by the Rural Reconciliation Project at the University of Nebraska College of Law (Professor Jessica Shoemaker) and the University of South Dakota Knudson School of Law (Professor Hannah Haksgaard), convened in person in Vermillion, South Dakota on Friday, October 9, 2026. This year, Professor Haksgaard welcomed participants to USD’s campus, where sessions were held in both the historic Old Main building and the striking National Music Museum.
