Resource Highlight: A Legal and Interdisciplinary Research Guide for Rural America
This post shares a legal and interdisciplinary research guide that was developed at the West Virginia University College of Law.
Designed to support the work of law professors, scholars, and students working on issues of law and rurality in the US, this guide organizes otherwise disparate rural materials by source type and offers a comprehensive starting point for research. It may also serve as a helpful classroom resource.
Importantly, this guide includes a bibliography of leading law review articles and a compilation of books—including scholarly monographs and edited volumes—that address a wide spectrum of rural law topics from access to justice and land tenure to rural governance and agriculture, and more.
Users will also find a curated selection of podcasts focused on rural America, interviews and talks by rural law scholars across the country, and a collection of past and upcoming rural law symposia, seminars, and conferences.
Finally, the guide offers a comprehensive set of research resources, covering federal and state primary authority, secondary sources, government agencies and organizations, interdisciplinary databases and journals, news and legal news, and more.
