We are thrilled to co-create a workshop space, again, for scholars whose work engages, broadly, with the law’s relationship to rural people and places. After an in-person event in Fall 2024, we rotate again in Fall 2025 to a fully online workshop format, maximizing accessibility while continuing plans to gather again in person in future, alternating years.

This year, our Fall 2025 Law and Rurality Workshop will be co-hosted online by Jessica Shoemaker of the Rural Reconciliation Project at the University of Nebraska College of Law and Hannah Haksgaard at the University of South Dakota Knudson School of Law.

Submission Deadline: Friday, August 29, 2025

Workshop Date: Friday, November 14, 2025

Full workshop and submission details in this Call for Proposals.

In the meantime, please reach out with any questions or concerns. For further context, information about past workshops can be accessed here (2024), here (2023), here (2022), and here (2021).
